About Me
My name is Cindy Maddera, and I’ve had this blog for many many years, but I’m just now sitting down and writing an About Me page for it. I perused around the internet looking at “about me” pages from some of my favorite bloggers, trying to inspire a witty little about me page of my own, but this turned out to be a horrendously bad idea. They had all of these totally amazing accomplishments listed, and blogging awards, and one of them was even mentioned in Forbes. Gah!
I’m just a small-town blogger with a small-town blog. I write about things that make me happy, things that inspire me, and people and things that I love. Several people have asked me why I named it Elephant Soap. There are a couple of reasons. First of all, that domain name was available. I also love and collect elephants, and the blog started out as my soap box. Put this all together and there you have it.
When I’m not blogging, I’m working my day job as a research scientist in micro and molecular biology. I like to play with microscopes, and fancy dies, and stains for cells, which kind of makes sense because I also enjoy playing around with cameras . I love just being able to capture those simple moments spent with my friends and loved ones.
I’m a girl of many talents and loves. I teach yoga and have a daily meditation practice. I love singing to the car radio and dancing with my headphones in while doing mundane housework. I enjoy the many adventures I share with my husband Chris (who keeps this whole website thing chugging along for me) and our muppet dog Hooper (who we named after the Richard Dreyfuss character Matt Hooper in Jaws because they both had crazy scruffy-looking hair).
Most of all, I just enjoy living each day to the fullest.
Namaste, y’all.
