Chris hardly ever says things like âNow thatâs a band Iâd really like to see in concertâ?. So, when he said that about Modest Mouse, I quickly snatched up tickets for that concert. I decided to make it an early birthday present for Chris. We had really good seats. Chrisâs seat was the aisle seat and it allowed him a perfect view of all the boobies walking up the aisle. At one point he looked over at me with a huge grin on his face and said âThese are the greatest seats!â?.
Modest Mouse was great. Iâm not sure I would have gone to that concert without Chris, but Iâm glad I didnât miss it. We even enjoyed the opening bands, Love As Laughter and ManBand. ManBand was very entertaining. They were kind of a cross of Squirrel Nut Zippers and The Muppets.
The concert was at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. On the way there I told Chris that Iâd never been to the Lloyd Noble Center for anything. He said the last time he was there was when he was in high school and he went to see Chicago. I looked over at him with a look of horror on my face. He said âThatâs right. I said Chicagoâ?. My poor nerdy husband.

Hey. I’ve seen REO Speedwagon; leave Chris alone.
need I remind you that I had to take you and J. to see New Kids on The Block?
Oh, I was thinking, Stage production of hte musical Chicago. But no. You mean…Chicago. HA!
It was post-Peter Cetera, so I figured it’d be okay, you know.
And may I remind you Janell that Mom bought us those tickets only because she thought that’s what girls my age should be listening to. Notice I never owned any thing New Kids On The Block.
I think I also heard that all that attended that concert that night (Janell, Cindy, Erica & J) SCREAMED THEIR HEADS OFF.
Also, who took who to Huey Lewis & The News and Robert Palmer.
I didn’t go to the Huey concert, but the Robert Palmer concert was awesome. It was my first concert.
