STAMP SIX
17 07 2007
Last week I mentioned to Robin that Eskimo Joe’s is one of the passport stamps and she looked up at me at said two words…”cheese fries”. We decided that we had to go have lunch at Eskimo Joe’s. The plan was simple. Go to Stillwater. Eat cheese fries. Get stamp. Come home. And that’s exactly what we did.
It was a good thing we went last week. This week marks the 32nd Anniversary of Eskimo Joe’s and they celebrate all week long. The place gets really hoppin’ during anniversary week. It was pretty busy when we went. I can just imagine how crazy hectic it is this week.
We had a nice lunch reminiscing about our days at OSU. We dragged Jen along so she could see the most popular bar in Oklahoma and hear our stories. I told her that you can’t come to Oklahoma and not go to Eskimo Joe’s. It’s part of the Oklahoma Experience.
Three stamps to go and I think I’m going to put the last three off until next month. Spread it out a little, that and we had to put about $500 worth of new parts into our car. At least now I won’t have to worry about my car actually getting me to the final stamps.

We haven’t been to Stillwater in so many years. You’re right, you can’t go to Oklahoma and not visit Joe’s.
Fried Mushrooms!!! yummmmm
Oooh, the fried mushrooms! I remember those. The last time I was at Trader Joe’s, I still wasn’t old enough to sit in the “bar” area!
It’s about time to get another shirt from there, though. The gray one I have is starting to seriously fade.
*Chili* cheese fries … with ranch (because there’s not enough fat there to begin with) …
I personally like the cups that change color when cold.
Ah, Ninja, you nut. Eskimo Joe’s; not Trader Joe’s. Until we get our dumb-ass liquor laws changed here so we can sell wine in grocery stores, we won’t have a Trader Joe’s. I know you meant to write “Eskimo”…but a part of me thinks you’re just trying to make us jealous : )
hahaha, a totally innocent Freudian slip, Chris, I assure you!
I did mean Eskimo Joe’s, but seeing as how we have a Trader Joe’s in our neighborhood (within walking distance! How’s THAT for making you jealous?) it’s easy to see why I typed “Trader Joe’s.” We shop there at least three times a week.
They have an award-winning bottle of Chardonnay for $2.99.
Oh, cheese fries. Yum. I’m also partial to the Elm Street Fowl Thing.
Don’t know how much good it will do, but here’s a petition you can sign to try to get Oklahoma’s dumb-ass liquor laws changed.
You forgot the funniest part of the day!! The tree sculptures!! http://pages.ebay.com/viewitem/viewitem_popup.html?domain=ebay.com
