CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN
3 01 2007I got some really great gifts for Christmas this year (besides the iPod). Chris gave me season one of the Muppet Show and Mom made us a set of dishes (yes, I said made. They’re really nice). But the best gift by far came from Katrina. She gave me a chocolate fountain. You can use it for cheese too, just not simultaneously with the chocolate.
We took the fountain to our friends’ house on New Year’s Eve and it was awesome. It was like a carnival ride. You would skewer your strawberry, banana, kiwi, marshmallow, and/or pineapple, dip it in the fountain and walk back to the end of the line. Everything can be dipped in the chocolate fountain, even broccoli. The only thing that could have made it better was cheese. Oh wait! Next time we’ll have toadd those little cheesecake bites. Cheese and chocolate together at last.
Now I have to figure out how to clean it so we can use it again…and again…and again.

I saw that thing at the store. I thought, “Who in the world would want that?” And now I can’t beleive I didn’t at first recognize the Awesomeness of the Chocolate Fountain. I only wish you had pictures of yourselves using it.
Yeah, pictures would have been good because we made a big time mess. But you have to stop eating chocolate covered stuff inorder to work a camera and no one was willing to do this.
After Amy tried chocolate-covered broccoli, I had to, too. I have to say, it was pretty good (and better than the chocolate-covered carrot).
Yea chocolate fountain! And you are right about the cheesecake bites… chocolate and cheese together at last! I can’t believe nobody got out the leftover pizza and tried chocolate covered pizza….
You’ll have to get a second one for cheese. Simultaneous fountains would be super awesome.
We got one too but have not used it yet. Is it easy? how much chocolate did you need?
Its way easy. We used two bags of semi-sweet morsels and melted them in the microwave with 3/4 cup vegetable oil. If you use a belgian chocolate or chocolate with a high buttter content, you don’t need the oil. We did start to run out of chocolate, so its a good idea to have some ready on reserve.
