He grabbed me by the arm at a political rally and said “you were great at the comedy club last night!” Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Was it the jokes about tampons or when I suggested the Holocaust didn’t happen? Anyway… It was weird realizing that a stranger had enjoyed my jokes. I think I’m more comfortable dealing with an audience than I am audience members, because an audience disappears afterward, and I never have to see it again. I don’t want to dwell on that too much, except to acknowledge that I might have some emotional problems when it comes to making people happy.
